Using E-cig to quit smoking

Please note: This is not a paid advertisement. I purchased this from a local shop. I am sharing this info in order to help others. And record my results from use. And things I have to learn. There are so many devices and liquids.  I know the on going cost of the device that looks like a cig is too much for me.

I bought  (Vapor X EGO ce4 electronic cigaret), on May 4, 2013.

I had hope this would help me quit smoking. I have a niece in Tennessee, who has had great success with Vaping.

(Vaping definition)  Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin or a mix of both based liquids, are mixed with small amounts of nicotine and flavoring that get vaporized in a small battery powered atomizer. 

 I at first experienced coughing and choking. It took many tries to get use to this. I am now almost 24 hours free of regular  cigarets. This morning I woke up with a sore throat. I took a honey and lemon cough drop. It helped.

 Yesterday, I put on a nicotine patch to help with with draw.  I had to mix about .2ml chocolate flavor with 1.4ml USA mix. To make the taste more pleasant. These too are VaporX brand products. Both are 50/50 Pv/VG. ( I used a total of about 1.4ml liquid.)

I have been researching the web and watching videos. To learn more. like (Why an I coughing?) I found the coughing can be a way your body is riding its self of tobacco toxins. Or an allergy to PV. I can not get VG base in my area. So I may have to order online. But I am finding I have less congestion in my lungs.  The taste is not like normal brands of tobacco. It is like comparing real chocolate to fake chocolate. I can tell the difference. I even had to learn to inhale differently at first to get use to this. I found it easy to take a puff in through the mouth hold it. Then breath in through the nose to get deep inhale to the lungs with clean air.Then slowly exhale the smoke from the mouth and nose like a normal cig. After a while you are able to inhale the smoke. Try small amounts at a time. When your lungs get cleaner it is easier. I found self talk helps allot. Telling your self this will be good. This is better for your health. But I do not know if this is the truth or a lie. Not enough research or facts to prove it. We are all Guinea pigs. paying to test the products on our self. Only time will tell.

But I have to do this. Cigarets are not killing me. They are only damaging my lungs.

I have quit many times, only to go though some event that triggers my need for a cig. So If I use this device rather than a real cig to fall back on. My lungs may benefit.And my mind will have to learn to be satisfied.

I would love to test out and review other flavors and E-cigs. I saw where some of the videos were sent products to try out and review. Some of them were so fake. And some were honest. But I think some reviews were educational. And that is what I want to do. Help save people the hours of researching to find out what to buy. .Or they already spent way too much money on what they thought was permanent, only to find it is an on going expense.

My words:
 You have to replace every thing except the case and charger. The charger is only for usb. So you have to buy an adapter for direct wall plug.

I bough a 2nd clearomizer for $9.99 So I could have 2 flavors. The second one is no where as good as the original. It may have too much air and or a leak.  I also may get another battery so I can charge one and use one. So more cost. You really need a kit with 2 of each.
Update: 5/13
I took this back and they replaced the 2nd one that was defective, and gave me a new deluxe kit. With 2 of each.and another e liquid for only $24.99 more.  Good customer service at the store in my area.

Grandkid withdraw

It has been since 2004, that I could call myself an Empty Nester. Sure we had youngest daughter move in for a few months. About 2 years ago. But I have been spoiled with having the first born grandson. On most weekend. And almost all summer last year. Now that he is a teenager. I have had to experience real emptynest syndrome. This past school year we did not get him much at all. It was so lonely with out him. And I did not feel the loss of my own kids as much as I have felt his presents missed. I am amazed by how a grandchild can grab your heart like no other.  I feel better now that he was with us last week end.

And yesterday my youngest and her 2 sons came for an over night visit. 

Hubby actually did a bit of running after them with a water gun. 

His inner child was out playing.

We hope to have more contact with them. But this set of kids live 2 hours away.

This day marks day 1 of youngest daughter journey as a now single mom of 2.

She is officially now divorced.   

And this is a good thing.to finally happen.

Working in the garden again

Today I had some help, My granddaughter Jozlyn, was sent home from preschool. So she helped me plant 11 more tomatoes. I recruited hubby to dig the holes. So I was able to get this row done in an hour or so. The other row took me a day and a half. I am not able to do as much as I use too. But any thing is better then nothing. I also started posting on my garden blog again. It has been 3 years since I last grew a garden.
