THANKFUL THURSDAY 15

Courage is the theme for today
I am very thankful I have plenty of this in my life now.

Today I am thankful that the results on my MRI showed a problem.
I will be having endoscopic surgery on May 29,2009.
They found a mass that takes up my spynoid sinus cavity.
I chose to do this as it will prevent me from having bilateral blindness.

I have to see an eye neurologist on May 27 to determine if my current vision can be corrected. This mass can explain my chronic fatigue, head aches, that makes me sleep so much lately. This may be the answer to some of my issues.

I am thankful I have the courage to say yes I will., as if this did not bother me. I do not worry about it.
I just read and learn more . I have watched many utube videos on how this is done.

So I am thankful for the knowledge of the Internet.
I am thankful I can do a bit at a time on my garden.
I am thankful hubby made dinner tonight too.
Please do not take this in a negative way.
At times like this.
My only wish is I had a mom who would come take care of me.
Do you ever miss being a kid with no responsibility?
I miss having dinner made and the house clean.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 14

Let go and let God is my theme for Thankful Thursday.

This is very hard for me to do.

What is the hardest for me to do. is let go of control.
I need to learn everything needed to make an educated choice. But on some things I jump in head first and suffer the consequence's. I am not worried about me,
or what is thrown my way.
I worry how my choice will affect others around me.
If I have no control of the outcome.
I can still try to make choices to try to change the out come.
But I have learn I just delay the inevitable.
It is hard to surrender your will.
And have faith that what is meant to be is for the good.
Like the saying.
You have to believe that everything happens for a reason.
+++++++++++++

++++++++++++++++
My thankful list is so long, but I will only post the top 3.
The sun was shining today
I was able to work in the garden a bit.
I am very thankful for my family and friends like you.

Earth Day 2009

Tomorrow is Earth day.

I love this quote!
"Go outside today, no matter what the weather! Take in the "tonic of outdoor air, the healthy influence that comes from contact with the soil, the delightful companionship with nature" (Eben E. Rexford, The Home Garden, 1909).
Click here You can see portions of his book at google library for free.

He prescribes a season of gardening. As being better than any drug a doctor can give you. I saw this to be true with my friends Mr & Mrs D. in St. Louis. They have a flower garden and worked it together. Mr. D. passed at age 93. And her health is now failing as he is gone and she can not work the garden as she did before.

I my self found peace and contentment in my garden at my old home. It was like heaven on earth. So I need to take some of my own medicine and get to work on my garden here. So I can find peace and regain my physical and add to my mental health.

My prescription for you is to go out side tomorrow. Enjoy the weather. Or plant a garden . learn to love and respect the Earth we share. Think green. recycle reuse and restore the health of the earth. Maybe plant a tree.

Note.
Earth Day, celebrated April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment Please see wickpedia for more info on the history of this day.

How sweet

It is day #2 not even 24 hours yet and the baby squirrel is eating on it own. Yea!
I bought a hamster bottle and look. I think this one is going to make it. It is not eating solid food yet.

Today I will be going to the ENT doctor to find out what is up with my MRI results.

What a week!

Up Date: the photo above is a new baby we found today. The dog across from Amy's home, took this ones sibling and it made it to the road where I was so I brought it home. This is not the first time I have raised a squirrel. I raised and released 3 in the past. I said I would not do it again. I would let nature take its course. But I could not. This one took right to being fed. It is older than the others I have raised. So looks like I may be a mom again. They are so much fun, But the cats I have now do not like squirrel as they through nuts at them.

Thursday started city wide garage sale days for our town. This was fun, I went out on Thursday with my friend Laura. It started out with buy a news paper. Easy enough. I look in the garage sale adds. hum. problem # 1 we don't know the streets by name yet. lol. Thin I call Amy she said there was a map in there in the classified area with all the listings. COOL. Then problem #2 they are all for the next town over about 18 miles away. LOL . Now I start to say lets just find them by signs here and she said we can go to the other town. So we did. Amy calls after we are in the other town. She said why are you there. I told her that it was there city wide sale. She said no we have one too. Then she said look for a paper with an insert for a grocery store on the front. So I open this 2 page add. Sure enough there is the yard sales with a map for our town. We then laughed and said thats Eldon for ya. Hid the adds. We had a good time .

Then Friday and Saturday. Amy and I went shopping. I found lots of things for the grand kids. And a walk behind weed trimmer for hubby. After his bypass he can not swing the hand held gas one any more. One house I spent $4.00 and got the whole tray of flatware, lots of containers. mino bucket and metal cage to hold fish. fly hook making supply's, a few tools & photo album. Talk about bargain #1 I felt like I was back in St. Louis. I so miss the flea market in Wentzville. We bought and resold things there. I was into comics, records , fishing gear. And sold new socks and what knots. We had fun. We had to sleep over night on Saturday night to get a spot for Sunday. Then at 6:00 am the people poured in as you unpacked. They had a rule no set up till 6:00 am, So I set up in crates and boxed so it only took 10-15 minutes to get ready. We had a following on our comics and records. We also made allot of friends.
I hope we can get well enough to do things like this again. We also have a kettle korn business. Where we went to festivals and fairs. It was allot of work just to unload and set up. But what fun. some camping out and friend making was involved. Our daughter said she would help if we wanted to do it again.

Yesterday I was able to get a couple more cattle panels up they will fence in and hold up tomatoes and melons. We have had so much rain I have not been able to get allot done with the ground. to see more of what I am up to in the garden click here or on the link in my side colom for my other blogs.

Camera critters 12

I went out this morning about 7:40 am to check on the garden, as we had rain over night. My first sight is my cat, Crash guarding the bird feeder. I though how cute. So I took a photo as he was getting up from his spot. I was surprised to see how the photo turned out. He looks like a cat on the horror film. Yikes Then I find Reba guarding the top soil bags.
Soon I will be letting the chicks out to eat all the weeds
This photo looks like. I taut I tall a puddy tat!

Good by tree

Sunrise

+++++++++++++++++++

Good by tree
How I love thee
The years you have seen
The pain you have endured.
From the wind and Ice
You were so nice.
You gave us air with out a care.
You covered our head.
And gave the squirrel's a bed.
With all that was said
Now it is time to let you go.
I will miss you so.

Lessons learned

I am thankful for the lessons I have learned.
Ecclesiastes
Happiness Sadness and the meaning of life,
A Time for Everything
To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose.
I am thankful I was reminded of this a few minutes ago.
When I was at pepper lady's blog. .She spoke of the song turn turn turn. By the Birds.

I am thankful for the lesson I learned from the Book
The Hiding Place
it is a true story of Corrie Ten Boom.

I first learned of her here on Thankful Thursday. Another blogger planted the seed of knowledge. I wish I could remember her name. I went back to Feb 11, and looked but gave up as not many put in there link for the post only. It is not easy to go back in every blog to find Feb 11 . So please let me know if it was you who posted about her. So I can thank you for planting this seed of knowledge.
I told my friend Cinda about it and she gave me her extra copy of the book.

I can now see why you should be thankful for bad things.
She was thankful for the flees because they kept the German solders away from them.
This video tells her story of how her family hid Jews in a secret room, and saved over 100 baby's,
