Celebrate the first day of Summer

Every year we have The OSAGE RIVER POW WOW
Here in Mid Missouri. Just in time to celebrate and bring in the first day of Summer.
I can sit in my yard and hear the drums beat.
Or go over and join in on the dancing.
They dance and sing to bring in healing and peace.
To celebrate life on this wonderful planet.
But Friday we must have had a rain dance as the night ended with another storm.
The rain is healing for the earth. But we have had so much the veggie garden is overwhelmed.
In celebration of summer we should all plant a tree or a flower. Do something to clean up our environment.
Or just say a prayer to help heal Mother Earth.

Think twice before using
herbicides or pesticides that will leach into our water system.
Yes I am an organic tree hugger.
I believe in nontoxic cleaners and herbal medicines. I try my best to not do more damage to the planet.

Oh, I love that post, I'll show it to my hubby, who is American Indian (Seminole~Creek). He always talks about the pow wows he attended growing up, but I've never been fortunate enough to attend one. Some day, I hope.
As I age, I find myself hugging trees, too. I just feel it's my responsibility to leave the planet in as good a shape as possible for future generations.

Welcome to Summer, Grammy... As hot as it is here, I couldn't bare to sit outside for long today. BUT--I'll celebrate Summer in my air-conditioned home.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great post, Grammy. I think it's wonderful to spread the word about healing our Mother Earth. I hope lots of people take your advice.

I've never been to a pow wow. Looks like fun. I know what you mean about the Rain Dance! LOL! We've had lots of rain, but it's not overwhelming...yet. Maybe our planet just needs extra healing in the form of cleansing rain.
Happy Summer, my friend.

Light and Love,
