Update 1 Growing potatoes from TPS Seed, tubers and pull sprouts.

I love the flowers blooming on this potato plant. It has a dark purple like stem. And dark veins. It will have dark purple potatoes too. I did the video above to show you, how well things are growing. I did a little cross breading on the plant too. I hope to get some berry's to produce seed for planting a new variety of potato.

Growing a rainbow of carrots

On May 15, 2015,  I planted my carrots. I know it is late. But they will still grow. I put celery in the first row bottom of photo going up.  I put a Karari Melon from India in the corner. Next row, I sprinkled Atomic Red. cosmic purple,  Solar Yellow, Tender Sweet orange Carrots. I have an all white too. I am just going to sprinkle around. so it will be a surprise each to me I find one. LOL
This is a 4 foot by 6 foot raised bed. Only 4 inches tall. But I hope the soil below will be loose enough for them to grow deeper. If not I will have short carrots.

Next year I will raise the bed higher. Adding more compost to keep the soil loose and rich in nutrients.

Update: Now it is  May 25.2015. Some of the carrots have sprouted.

 I have dried grass between the rows. This helped to retain moisture.

 The Karari Melon has sprouted also

Growing potatoes

This looks like the year of the potato for me. I almost have all of my potatoes planted. But I am behind on many of the other things. I can only do a little per a day. Some day's have been too much rain or too cold. Weather has started out crazy again this year.  Today it is a cool  60F/15c. And the other day it was a whopping 90f/32c. I was melting. But I better get back out and get some more things in the ground. Hope you enjoy my videos.
