Arkansas 2009

Arkansas is one place I will go again. I loved Hot springs ! We had a quaint hotel room. It had the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. The room was only $63..00 a night including tax. We started the day with a great soak in a hot tub. The on to a sauna box like you would see on TV where they close metal doors around you neck. like on old TV shows. Then off to being wrapped in hot towels. And at last the Swedish massage. I want to do this again ! We then drove to a pancake restaurant. And would not recommend it to others. Then off to see President Clinton's child hood home. It was not open to the public but you could take photos. Then off to the gator petting zoo. I did not include all the other animals there. I am saving them for Camera critters on Saturday. But we loved every minute there. I fed deer and other animals. We did not have time to go to the crystal mines and hunt for treasure. Maybe next time. As we were leaving for Texas we saw the forest on fire. And I called 911 to find it was a controlled burn. So we drove on with fire on both sides of our road. it was a bit scary. But what an awesome sight. I stopped at Lowe's and found a Camellia bush like the one at our hotel. It was half price. So I only paid about $14.00 for one of my own. What a deal !

We were near Hot Springs not too long ago. It's a pretty part of the country.

Sounds like a great trip, Grammy... You got a good deal. We love Arkansas too--and were near Hot Springs (as you will see from my blog tomorrow).

Hugs,
Betsy

So glad you had a wonderful trip and arrived home safely.

I enjoyed the pictures. I haven't been to Hot Springs since I was a little girl.

We went through Arkansas last year. We stayed a few days at Bull Shoals. We did a little trout fishing... I caught one trout and Frank was given three trout. Now who was the better fisher person :-)

Glad you had a good trip and hope you returned home to find signs of Spring.

The Gator Petting Zoo sounds like fun if you want to lose a finger or more :) After seeing the gator eggs I can't help thinking of making some scrambled eggs for breakfast. Just call me a gatorneck :)
