A treasured friend

This is Mr. & Mrs. D and to the right is my Aunt Macel.
This picture was taken Oct of 2004
Mrs. D has had a great influence on my life.
I cherish every moment I get with her. She is from the old world of kindness and respect. She speaks with every one she meets. If just to say hello.
I am truly blessed to know her.
She is near 90 and Mr D has now passed.
She shared her love of gardening and all the wonderful stories of there past. I could sit and listen to her all day. It is very hard for her to go on with out her hubby. But she tries so hard to do the grass cutting that he did. They both worked together to maintain the weeds. There garden is full of Daylillie and ires. Plus a quite few other things. I use to bring her hostas from my collection. And she shared some of her collection with me.
We both loved to garden and sit in the yard to enjoy nature. But people were a big part of her life. They were both positive caring people.
If every one was like them this would be the most wonderful world.
These are the only day lilies I have of hers in this yard. I had to leave the rest at my old home.

Love the daylilie pic - your cat looks "planted" with the flowers! LOL!
Mrs. D. cuts her grass at 90??? I don't even do that. Wow - what a wonderful woman she is. I hope she has family to come and visit her.
A treasured friend indeed....

Hi Grammy,

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words on my quilt! I truly appreciate them.

Love your post about your gardening friend. It reminds me of a dear friend of mine that got me started on quilting about three years ago. I would have missed out on a lot of things if she hadn't insisted that I give quilting a try! :)

Have a great weekend.

Awwww, how truly blessed you are to have such a special person in your life. :)

Those Daylilies are gorgeous! How did that kitty get in there? hehe

I just trotted over here to tell you thanks for the wonderfully supportive and kind comments you left for me on my blog, concerning my son's injury.
It is much appreciated :)

Take Care,
Lisa
