Virtual gift

This I title Up
As in Not SAD, Look up.
As it could be sad to some. But it is the calm after the storm.
The beauty of a cleansed, & refreshed day.
As the sun is returning to light up our life.

I have never done an advent calendar.
But this year I am challenging my self to create 24 days of virtual gifts.
From me to you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did in making them.
I may also include information and links to help some people get through the holiday season.
Because for some this is a happy fun filled time.
For others this is the worst time of the year.
I in the past could not wait for January.
The holidays add pressure of commercialism.
We are some how programed to buy.
Kids and adults both now want or expect more than needed.
Credit cards are over used and people let go of bills to buy things.
But I no longer let this affect my life.
I am finding that a simple gift from the heart.
Photobucket
A hand made gesture.
Is the best gift of all.
Last year the hand made sock monkeys were a big hit.
Please click here if you would like to see how I made them.

I have found that I like many suffer from.

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or, less frequently, in the summer

I made it through last winter with minimal issues.
By looking at the clouds as beautiful, not dreary.
You change your perception of the day.
Add more light to the indoors to make up for out door light.

I am researching it more and find that light therapy may help.
And I am going to try melatonin
If you find this is happening to you too. You should do more research too.
As it could be as simple as adding Full Spectrum Lighting or using a light box, that uses 10000 lux, I am just going to buy bulbs that are not as expensive and give it a try.

Have a wonderful day and remember to laugh and play.Photobucket

What a beautiful gift! Thank you. This is a very wise post. I think that by changing your attitude (your cloud analogy) it really helps. I have decided this year to embrace fall and winter. Get outside and play and have fun. And before we know it, spring will be here once again.
