Thankful Thursday

Being unique is perfect for this weeks post.

I have been reading and thinking about allot of things this week.
I can see now, that we are just a spirit in a vessel we call a body.
We allow our mind to control how we feel and react to every thing.
We let our inner critic control too many actions.
Our higher self is not judgmental, critical or unkind.
We allow an inner voice to destroy our peace & self respect.

As our vessel is not who we are, it is our heart our wisdom and kindness that make us unique.
If we act out of love, we will be loved.
I am thankful I can learn and grow in ways that I would have never thought of before.
I am thankful I can do things that make me happy with out even leaving the house.

I made this group of photos to just have fun with.
The top left is my head and shoulders with an outfit I really liked. Marlyn Monroe's legs . And a pair of $1200.00 shoes. See all that don't make me any diffrent than I already am. I painted the photos in the right side to show weathered and younger faces. But in the end it is still me, with paint on my face.

Oh yes that is really me and my cat in lower right.
But I assume the point is, you are perfect the way you are.
And so is every one we meet.
I am also thankful for every one and every thing.

This is the topic for Thankful Thursday this week.

I have so many to be thankful for.
This past year of bliss.



Finding friend here on the Internet.
Having my daughter live close by now.
Spending time, most weekends with my grandson.
Hubby is starting to talk more. But his story's are not true.
That bothers me. But I do not try to correct him much any more.
I have learn just to be happy he speaks.
I am thankful for the roof over my head and food in the frig.
The ability to learn and create.
To to be free of pain.

THANKFUL THURSDAY Rescue

What an amazing coincidence
Ires has the rescue theme for this week.
And look what happened in the last half hour.
I get a call with a sad voice on the other end.
I know from the tone something bad has happened.

My daughter Amy said. You will not believe what this awful person did tonight.

My mind went wild with what happened. Are you ok.
She said" A truck driver told her some one was dumping in there dumpster at the truck stop".
So thinking it was trash she did not worry to much.
But she made sure to take the trash out as she left work.
And this was the thing she found.

This little guy is maybe 4-5 weeks. And hungry.

She brought him buy and crash made him feel welcome

Out went the daddy tung and took away this little guys fears.
He started eating some watered cat food.
And I gave her some dawn blue dish washing liquid.
This is a safe way to kill fleas and ticks with out harm.
Now my grandson will have a new kitty and he will not be crushed in the trash truck tomorrow.

I am so thankful my love for animals rubbed off on my kids.
They both rescue animals and people.
I am very blessed to see this.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I have so much to be thankful for this week.
I will start with all the fun I had keeping 2 of my grandson for a week.
Just getting back from a run to the lake area, to have a bite to eat with my oldest daughter.
We both discussed missing the Rock road and every thing at your finger tips.
We have to drive 18+ miles for any thing open after 10pm now.
So I am thankful I was spoiled to convenience's in my past.
I am thankful now for a simple life.

I am thankful for blogland and my new found friends.
You all bring such joy and inspiration to my life.
I am thankful for laughter and love.

May peace and happiness find you all.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I am so happy today.
I find my wings of life growing and changing for the better every minute,
I am so thankful for this change. It is like seeing a bright light at the end of a tunnel and I am near the end. Where more light comes in every day.
It is so awesome to love every thing you see with new eyes.
Enjoy life like a child again.
Sparks of happiness and joy surround your very soul.
This is a true gift I was given.
To know you still have a future of family love.
And can share your gifts with the new generation of grandkids is so much fun.
As a grandparent you get a second chance at fun and play and can really enjoy it with out the pressure of parenthood.
So I am thankful today to be a grandparent.

Freedom

This is the topic chosen by Lynn she is hosting this weeks Thankful Thursday.

I am very thankful that we all have the freedom to believe the way we want to.
I am also thankful for all those who gave there time and life for our freedom.
I also am glad there are still some places left in America where you can do what you want on your own property.
You can express the way you feel and wear the kind of cloths you want.
Where women are no longer controlled unless they allow it to be.
We have the freedom to speak and learn.
We take allot for granted.

I am thankful I have a choice to be happy..

THANKFUL THURSDAY.

The simple things in life are the best.

I am thankful to see my grandkids grow up. Having fun with simple pleasures.
I am thankful to be in contact with foster Grandson Brandon again.
I am so thankful to be able to breath after sugary, and with out allergy med's.
But I still need to learn to stay awake again.
I was blessed with a visit from my friend Margo the weekend of the 6th.
We had an awesome time. I am so thankful I could go some places with her.
I am most thankful to have awesome friends and family.

This is my step Dad. He is truly a gift to this world.
He has many time gone out of his way to give or help many people.
He has been a true example for me to fallow.
He shows love to all.
Happy fathers day to all Dad's.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

This weeks post is kinda hard for me.
As I have slept most of this week away.
But as always I am thankful for my friends and family.
You my blog friends have lifted my spirit with your kind words and prayers for my health.
I feel I have been positive for quite a while.
But in life you have to have a bit of negativity for balance.
It is how you handle the negativity that counts.
As I know I am doing better than some I have seen with this surgery.
And I know the recovery time is temporary.
I seam to be in limbo at this time. Neither happy or sad. I am ok.
So I am thankful to be ok.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

THE Miracle OF MASS PRAYER

TODAY WAS MY SURGERY THEY MOVED THE DATE BACK.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO SAID PRAYERS.
MY MASS WAS NOT A TUMOR LIKE 3 DIFFERENT ENT DOCTORS THOUGHT IT WAS.
IT TURNED OUT TO BE A MUSHROOM. LOL

ACTUALLY IT TURNED OUT TO BE A FUNGUS. 1.7 " X .7"
SO THIS MADE THE SURGERY LESS DEVASTATING FOR MY SPHENOID SINUS.

I SPENT AN HOUR IN RECOVERY OR MORE WITH HOT BLANKETS ON MY HEAD TO STOP THE PAIN. AND ATE CRACKERS AND DRANK 5 OR MORE SMALL COFFEES. THEN IT TOOK 2 VICODEN TO FINALLY RELIEVE THE PAIN. IT IS FAR FROM EASY TO SLEEP. I NEED TO STAY UP RIGHT IN MY LAZY BOY.
WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL I CALLED MY FRIENDS AND TOLD THEM I WAS CALLING FROM HEAVEN. THEY LAUGHED. I SAID I WAS ABLE TO TAKE MY CELL PHONE WITH ME. BUT THEY DID NOT BELIEVE ME.
WE STOPPED AT A DOUGHNUT SHOP IN Jeff CITY ON THE WAY HOME. i BOUGHT 2 DOZEN DOUGHNUT HOLES. I HAD SUCH A GREAT OUT LOOK AT THAT TIME. I TOOK THE PHOTO BELOW. AND HAD FUN WITH IT.

BACK TO THE THANKFUL PART. I AM SO THANKFUL THIS WENT WELL. AND I HAD NO FEAR. WHEN YOU KNOW EVERY THING THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IT IS EASYER TO PREPAIR FOR. THE HARD PART NOW IS DEALING WITH THE AFTER AFFECTS. AS I DO NEED THE VICODEN. SO I AM THANKFUL FOR THE DRUG. I AM THE MOST THANKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU WHO PRAYED FOR ME AND I RECIEVED A GOOD OUT COME.

Past and present

This is my theme for Thankful Thursday this week.
If it were not for the past I would not be who I am today.
So I am thankful for all the good and bad things that made me who I am today.
I started life as an innocent kid from West Virginia.
Who would have thought I would grow up in St. Louis. Mo.
So I am thankful that my Mom married my Step dad . and he made the choice to move us there.
Or this would not be my life today.
I would be married to a mountain man and living some where in WV.
The photo above is my prom in 1978.
Yep it is me and hubby.
NOTE: I am not taller than him I just have tall shoes on. LOL
For my wedding I wore flats so he would be taller than me.

This is me and my mother inlaw on May 10, 1980

Hubby's 2 sisters in the photo have passed. He is #12 of 15 kids.
His Dad was one of the youngest of 15 kids.
And I am very thankful. I only have 2.
My kids and grandkids make my life special.
I am thankful to be here for them.

I am also thankful Sunday May 10 will not only be my 29th anniversary , but also Mothers day. I did not realize when I picked that day for 1980 that it was also Mothers day. I am thankful so many people gave up there mothers day to celebrate my Wedding.
Thank you all for rejoicing with me today in my past to celebrate this year.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 15

Courage is the theme for today
I am very thankful I have plenty of this in my life now.

Today I am thankful that the results on my MRI showed a problem.
I will be having endoscopic surgery on May 29,2009.
They found a mass that takes up my spynoid sinus cavity.
I chose to do this as it will prevent me from having bilateral blindness.

I have to see an eye neurologist on May 27 to determine if my current vision can be corrected. This mass can explain my chronic fatigue, head aches, that makes me sleep so much lately. This may be the answer to some of my issues.

I am thankful I have the courage to say yes I will., as if this did not bother me. I do not worry about it.
I just read and learn more . I have watched many utube videos on how this is done.

So I am thankful for the knowledge of the Internet.
I am thankful I can do a bit at a time on my garden.
I am thankful hubby made dinner tonight too.

Please do not take this in a negative way.
At times like this.

My only wish is I had a mom who would come take care of me.
Do you ever miss being a kid with no responsibility?
I miss having dinner made and the house clean.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 14

Let go and let God is my theme for Thankful Thursday.

This is very hard for me to do.

What is the hardest for me to do. is let go of control.
I need to learn everything needed to make an educated choice. But on some things I jump in head first and suffer the consequence's. I am not worried about me,
or what is thrown my way.
I worry how my choice will affect others around me.
If I have no control of the outcome.
I can still try to make choices to try to change the out come.
But I have learn I just delay the inevitable.
It is hard to surrender your will.
And have faith that what is meant to be is for the good.
Like the saying.
You have to believe that everything happens for a reason.

I am thankful for the lesson I learned from the Book
The Hiding Place it is a true story of Corrie Ten Boom.

I first learned of her here on Thankful Thursday. Another blogger planted the seed of knowledge. I wish I could remember her name. I went back to Feb 11, and looked but gave up as not many put in there link for the post only. It is not easy to go back in every blog to find Feb 11 . So please let me know if it was you who posted about her. So I can thank you for planting this seed of knowledge.
I told my friend Cinda about it and she gave me her extra copy of the book.

I can now see why you should be thankful for bad things.
She was thankful for the flees because they kept the German solders away from them.
