Yes I can.

I did the above photo Jan 2010.
This was my interpretation of my brain.
When I had the first ah ha moment of I can control my thoughts.
I looked at the brain like a computer. Feed me input.
But it did not really sink in to the point, we can control our thought.
We can and do grab and let go of thoughts each moment of every day. Some thoughts stick around, others pass.
Now today, this is my new and improved version of my brain.
I did some spring cleaning.
I think I removed all the virus programs, like panic, anxiety, depression.
But I found you can not just hit the delete button.
You have to find info to replace or repair your way of thinking. Much like virus software. You have to change your way of thinking.
I have been busy. I found hayhouseradio.com and have been listing to some amazing speakers. They all have books so I am fighting the temptation to buy. I only bought 3 books and 1 deck of angel tarot cards. LOL.

But I have not felt so much passion in a long time.
I am not at 100% recovery, but I am on the road to Yes I can.
Please let me know if you would like to hear more on my new adventure of reprogramming.

Virtual gift

This I title Up
As in Not SAD, Look up.
As it could be sad to some. But it is the calm after the storm.
The beauty of a cleansed, & refreshed day.
As the sun is returning to light up our life.

I have never done an advent calendar.
But this year I am challenging my self to create 24 days of virtual gifts.
From me to you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did in making them.
I may also include information and links to help some people get through the holiday season.
Because for some this is a happy fun filled time.
For others this is the worst time of the year.
I in the past could not wait for January.
The holidays add pressure of commercialism.
We are some how programed to buy.
Kids and adults both now want or expect more than needed.
Credit cards are over used and people let go of bills to buy things.
But I no longer let this affect my life.
I am finding that a simple gift from the heart.
Photobucket
A hand made gesture.
Is the best gift of all.
Last year the hand made sock monkeys were a big hit.
Please click here if you would like to see how I made them.

I have found that I like many suffer from.

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or, less frequently, in the summer

I made it through last winter with minimal issues.
By looking at the clouds as beautiful, not dreary.
You change your perception of the day.
Add more light to the indoors to make up for out door light.

I am researching it more and find that light therapy may help.
And I am going to try melatonin
If you find this is happening to you too. You should do more research too.
As it could be as simple as adding Full Spectrum Lighting or using a light box, that uses 10000 lux, I am just going to buy bulbs that are not as expensive and give it a try.

Have a wonderful day and remember to laugh and play.Photobucket

A cure !

I have been looking for relief for itching caused by the shingles
An awe, Thanks to old fashion kitchen magic. My eldest aunt in Wv and I came up with wonderful relief. She has always looked at nature as a medicine cabinet.

I did online research and knew I wanted aspirin in the mix . It is to help aid in pain management. And crushed oatmeal is used in bath water or directly on poison ivy to dry it up. One thing I did not know was the healing power of milk.
She said she used it in the eyes of her kids for infection and in the eyes of a cat.

So I used 2 crush aspirin maybe 2 tablespoons +/- can milk , as I do not have access to a cow.
And enough crushed oat meal to thicken.
After the first application I went hours with out an itch. Where hydrocortisone cream was needed every 10 minutes.

I used this magic potion, a few times and now my hives are dry and the itch is gone. I still have the pain that is not easy to control. I am on several Dr ordered drugs.

I feel awesome now that I have half the battle of the first week Conquered. I have 3-6 weeks to go.

But I am so happy I get to have Thanksgiving dinner with the kids today at Amy's Home.
Yea! for home remedies !
