A call for help.

This call is not for me.

At this time a fellow blogger is calling out for help.

I know how she feels and wish I could do more.
Can you imagine what it is like to be unable to work.
For both you and your hubby to be disabled.
The fear of homelessness and hunger

My wish today is to help her.
I know there are so many now loosing there homes and going hungry.
But this is a chance to help one.

As Mrs. B said even a dollar will add up to many if we were all to spare one.
Please help Vixen.

Please visit visit Vixen's blog (where the donation button is set up)

If you can not donate.
Consider doing a post for her. Maybe some of your readers can help.

International Year of Astronomy 2009

I started looking at the Farmers Almanac site and ended up at Hubble skywatch site today
I found that four hundred years ago, Galileo turned a telescope toward the night sky and launched the field of astronomy. To celebrate this anniversary, 2009 has been declared the International Year of Astronomy (IYA).
I learned Galileo did not invent the telescope. It was already in use to watch the sea on ships. But he was the first person to look at the sky with it.
I decided to order 2 of the Galileoscope™ it is a high-quality, low-cost telescope kit developed for the International Year of Astronomy 2009 orders for the Galileoscope are now being taken at www.galileoscope.org, and delivery of telescope kits will commence in late Apr.

I thought this would be a fun thing to do with the Grandkids and maybe hubby.
The new chicks have names now. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Breakfast is flying lunch is half way up and dinner is in the oven.
or on the ground.

mercury found in food we feed our kids.

I was reading this article from mother earth news
Titled :Another Reason to Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup: Mercury
There was a list of food on this link

Researchers tested 55 products and found mercury in nearly one-third of them, including Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Nutri-Grain Strawberry Cereal Bars, Jack Daniels Barbecue Sauce and more.

How did the heavy metal get in there? In making HFCS — that “natural” sweetener, as the Corn Refiners Association likes to call it — caustic soda is one ingredient used to separate corn starch from the corn kernel. Apparently most caustic soda for years has been produced in industrial chlorine (chlor-alkali) plants, where it can be contaminated with mercury that it passes on to the HFCS, and then to consumers.
nearly one-third of 55 popular brandname
food and beverage products where HFCS is the first or second highest labeled
ingredient—including products by Quaker, Hershey’s, Kraft and Smucker’s.
HFCS use has skyrocketed in recent decades as the sweetener has replaced sugar in
many processed foods. HFCS is found in sweetened beverages, breads, cereals, breakfast
bars, lunch meats, yogurts, soups and condiments. On average, Americans consume
about 12 teaspoons per day of HFCS. link To more information

My kitchen window

This was Sunday the last day of Dec . I mean Nov.
Where is my brain.
I heard a noise like birds arguing.
I look out the window to find a small bird.
In the other window.

It is a Carolina-Wren Here is a close up.
The picture would be better If I were to clean this window.
Humm. Not today.

Next thing I see is snow. Burr.
Here is the view today. Burr. Not allot of accumulation but still snow. And look at my view another house is almost ready. This is the 3rd house to be built. 1 per year. This was just a field.

A ride in the country

Where do you think we are going today?
Humm.
I love the rolling hill sides with all the fresh hay.
All the fields dabbles with cows.

Hay we are here!

Yep it is a farm but what kind?
Could it have Wilber the pig?
And charlote the spider.
No there are clean pigs here.
Look they are smart.
one is distracting me as
the others grab the shirt right off my back. HE HE HE
I love it.
Oh my they even want to eat my shoe!
Now wheres the beef ?
I have to say I am impressed. The smell was no where near as bad as the turkey barn I went to. And they were well cared for piggies. They are 10 week old grocery store pigs. I learned allot.
And the farmer gets an A +++ award from me.

Think positive and create positive

We need to learn to think positive again. and not let the fear of the unknown destroy our present life. So go on with your life as you always did in the past. With out fear.

Please! Help your local food pantry's .
Damage has already been done. As Fear is running ramped all over. Here 2 neighbors have now moved because they lost there Jobs. My daughter is moving here the 1st of Nov. Because she lost her job.
The largest employer in my small town let go all of 3rd shift. It is a factory that builds blower motors. That could involve furnaces.
Also a well known lawn mower factory has been closed down in other areas of Mo.

For my daughter it was her company lost there contract with hospitals. Now the radiation generators used in MRI CAT SCAN STRESS TEST, ETC are being shipped in from another country, not locally purchased here in the US.

Did you know if you are let go rather than laid off. You do not just get unemployment.
None of these people have an income. Till unemployment decides you are worthy . You will just wait and wait. But a lay off get there unemployment right away.
How likely will a nuclear engineer or chemist find a new job?
Especially One that is 6 month pregnant on top of that.

You may ask why this is happening? It is a trickle down affect. Like Dominoes.

We hear about others and that starts the fear in our life.
So people who are able to spend will stop spending there money

Then economy will then start shutting down.
We are letting what is happening in the stock market and mortgage industry. etc.
Affect our lives.

We are creating our own depression.
By not buying things as usual.

I am not telling you to go throw your money away unwisely.
I an suggesting you help turn the economy around.

Help your neighbors in need.
Help your local food pantry
.
Most have no food. Buy a little extra and drop it off at a pantry or homeless shelter. If you have extra crops take some in to them. If you have fruit trees you are letting go to waist offer them to some one or a church that will pick them and give them to people in need.

I am only one voice, and it may not be loud.
But if we all pass on the message of

Lets save our economy
.
Maybe it will get to the white house and news papers. So they will stop the break down of public trust.
We need to hear good news.

We need to save our nation and the world. The more I read the more I find it is a world full of people in fear of loosing the home & job.

The more we spend, the more people have jobs,
The more those people can buy. The more the world is back to happy and normal.
So go on with your life as you always did in the past. With out fear.

We need to buy local to support our local business too.
The mom and pop shops need our help.

If you would please pass these words on to your family and friends.
Like
Dominoes standing back up strong,
we may save some one from hunger or homelessness.

Be blessed my friends.

My daughter is ok.

Yesterday Amy called about 11:00 am to say she is is pain worse than her gallbladder was. It is in the lower right side of her stomach, And she is very sick. I had a feeling it was her appendix. I was soo scared as she is over 6 months pregnant, So I told her go to the hospital. Around 2 I get a call she is in the maternity ward. She said er sent her right there they do not handle pregnant people in er. The fear set in. She has been setting there in pain with monitors on her. Like labor and delivery. She has not seen a doctor as yet. So of coarse DR MOM kicks in. I said you hit the panic button now. Tell them you want blood work and a ultrasound, This is an appendix. Not a baby delivery. I called my friend in St. Louis as a back up. She will go there after work if nothing starts to happen for her. So around 4 Amy called her blood work came back as high white count. So it is either her body rejecting the kid. or infection. With her being b- she has had a hard time with this baby. The father is a positive blood type. So the baby may also be. She has to take rogam shots with this one to keep her body from attacking the baby like a virus.

So she said they are admitting her to the hospital. And she will get an ultrasound. I then called my other daughter and met her in another area so we can go to St. Louis together.
At 6:00 pm she called they are taking her to emergency surgery. It is appendix. So All the time it takes us to drive there she is in surgery alone. She is awake for the whole thing. They can not put her asleep.

What is amazing. When Amy was in school she wanted to be a doctor, but she went into chemicals. She enjoyed being awake She wanted to have a mirror to see what they were doing. They said no. They had to cut her higher to the right side and move the baby over. And they asked her do you want to see your appendix. She said yes. So she knows what a bad appendix looks like now. What a kid,

I get a call and I am 10 minutes away from her now. she is out of surgery. And it is pouring the rain so hard you can barely see the road. She said I am OK. They have her on a morphine drip in her back for pain. She is still sick to her stomach.

But she went through this alone. I told my self I would all ways be there for my kids. As my Mom was never there for me. But I was with her on the phone and I am here now. I feel her pain. And like the mommy bear want to still protector her at age 27.

Update: I am back home and so is she today 10-09-2008
Her meds are wore off so she feels a bit of the pain but all is well.
Baby is fine. No reaction to antibiotics. Yea. They gave her a spin off of amoxacillin.
She has allergy's to it.

I am a bit tired and my allergy's are awaking.
But I am ok.
Thanks for all your kind words of support.
Big hug.

Fall is here

Today starts out quite foggy, I can hear a loud crash and running across the roof, It must be walnut time. I go out side and find my cat looking up at the tree

Next thing you see is the squirrel grab a walnut and jump to the roof he makes it to the top before I can even get the photo. Next I hear another noise and its another squirrel to the right side of the roof. This one is in the pecans. So it will be quite a noisy day today.
And I will have to wait my turn for the left overs they drop. Nuts are up to $8.00 in the stores so I want to keep and freeze as many as I can.

This is my only pumpkin this year. it's small but cute.
My oldest daughter and her family are here this weekend for the Antique steam engine and tractor show. This will be quite a fun event for the whole family I will post pictures. And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
