Gratitude

This to me is a life saver.
With out gratitude you simply exist.
This give me the power to overcome. And move forward. It allows me to feel more passion, love and see the world with new eyes. I use to do the Thankful Thursday posts. But now I try each day to find something new to be grateful for.  I have the most essential ones on my list in the above image. But I am learning to be thankful  for things I never thought of before.
I have learned to be thankful for problems, but only after I find the good that come of them. I am learning to be thankful for the most basic of things also. Like our senses.
I now need reading glasses to read. But I am thankful I can still see with out them. I found in a meditation I did yesterday the prompt was to visualize. Feel, hear, smell, taste. I am so programed to keep my involvement sent free.
I can not even recall a sent. Allergy's to perfume, and chemicals affected my breathing. So I really did not realize I can not imagine a smell, when asked to do so. I can not recall taste of too many items.  So I am going to work on living more aware of my sense.
Like the old quote. Wake up and smell the roses.

I will close by saying I am thankful that you stopped by and left your wonderful thoughts and wishes, in my comments.

Self

 This creation represents transformation.
Like a cocoon, I with drew from life 2 different times.
Each time I came back with new and improved wings.

This time I hope will just continue to evolve into the real me. The one I was born to be. I feel so charged with the ability to learn and let go of old ways. And replace the way I use to judge things, with just simple acceptance.
Because a thought is just a thought till you decide to grab onto it and make it part of you.
I think the best lesson I have learned yet is.
The way we think.
Example
Above the image is just an image.
But when we decide to look deeper. We then allow our mind to make judgment. Like this looks like a 3 girls with wings. There is allot of purple. To me it represents past, present and future.
Then you decide to read the words. You then decide, You like or do not like the words. You either forget them or write them down. Or just right click and save the complete image.

If you do the last one, then you allow this to change your thinking. And then it plants a seed in you to change your way of thinking.
Or you simply say this is nice, or I don't like this, and move on.

This is also how we become our problems. Rather that see them as just a thought or situation. We decide to let them take over our life. And become our life.Rather than see it is just something that has happened. And do something about or or let it go.

This has put me on the path to living by spirit rather than ego mind.
I now see I have depression,  I am not depression.
I am not simply, just a wife, mom and Gmom. I am called this because this is what I did in life. I chose to marry and have kids.
All we truly are is a soul/spirit here on earth, who is experiencing life. Through the choices we make.

Empathy

I have to first begin by stating, :"I am grateful for the last break down of my mind." It has put me on the path to finding the real me. I now understand it is part of my personality to feel things deeply.  I found I am a healing empath.  I already knew, I am one who feels the pain of others as though they are my own pain. Through this I some times can help others get well. Just by talking and caring about another person is true healing at its best.

I really did not know till now, that I am a healing empath, this is a gift, almost every one has this to different degrees.
All of you have shown this to me, that you to have this ability. When you comment, you help to lift my spirit. And you are truly healing my soul with love, compassion, and virtual hugs.

I knew in the past I could help others to overcome, but it was much harder for me to help my self. Now I feel stronger and more capable. I feel like when my mind exploded. I went out and bought a new computer brain.
The pictures in the post below. Represent the old and new me. I kept every thing good. And the book with a lock on it is what was perceived as bad events. I will keep them now under lock and key. Because they are really just events that happened. When I can see the good that came from them, I will let them out and release them.

Back to empathy,
definition, is the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings (such as sadness or happiness) that are being experienced by another.

So we also heal though love, fun, laughter, kindness of all types.

New beginnings

New beginnings is the title I have given this painting.
It is all about beauty in the darkness.
Every day is a new beginning.
Every minute is a new adventure.
Life is full of waves, But they will go away if you chose to let them.

Sunday was the last day of having our oldest grandson stay with us.
He is such a joy to be around. School is scheduled to reopen today, but there is a bit of snow out there.
So there may be a snow day for him.
Friday he and hubby went out to pick up dinner.
He told me that my hubby did not have any more money to buy it.
I told him, yes he got paid today.
Jeremy said Papa don't work. how does he get paid.
I told him . He gets paid to watch TV.
Jeremy said "I WANT THAT JOB"!
Hubby said you have to work really hard all your life to get that job.
It is called retirement.

DIGITAL ART CALENDAR

Jill over at Third age Musings issued a calendar challenge
So I decided to try.
I have a graphic arts background. from taking offset lithography for 2 years.
But I now do most of my art work on the computer so I will now be considered a digital artist.
I am not by any means a Van Gogh.
But I think I am an artist in training.
As art is a life long adventure in learning.
I will be doing my calendar like this. every day I will paint or collage an image for this.
here is day 1 & 2

The calendar will be posted and update on my side bar.
My inspirational quotes for this month will come from.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba
He is a religious figure, and educator in India.
He brought clean water and medical help, education and many other things to people in need.
He is new to me. And I am just learning of his history. But he has helped so many in his country and has over 1,200 Sathya Sai Baba Centers in 114 countries worldwide.
according to wickpedia.

His words are from love an encouragement.
He also devoted his life to make others healthy and educated.
sample of his quotes
“You must enshrine in your hearts the spiritual urge towards light and love, Wisdom and Bliss!”
“Life is a challenge, meet it! Life is a dream, realize it! Life is a game, play it! Life is Love, enjoy it!”
“You have it in your power to make your days on Earth a path of flowers, instead of a path of thorns.”

Venting negative energy

I so hope you do not mind me sharing this here.
Please do not allow this story to bring you down, Or feel sorry for me. As this is temporary and will go away.
I share this in hope of helping my self and others.

When a situation is shared, like what I went through with my daughter the other day.

I chose to let what is happening in her life affect my life.
I thought I released it in the art work I did.
I vented to a friend and my other daughter.
But I let her negative situation hurt me. I have so little energy today.
I am trying to recover from shingles. This is the worst thing that has happen to me.
As it was so many days of sleep18-20 hours a day. pain and itch.
I think my amune system is not working.
But this is all a result of letting problems become my life. Rather than separate my life from the problem.
I was getting very good at just listening to my daughter.
And realizing it was not my life, but hers.
But that Mother instinct is stronger than me. When some one is hurting your child. you want to take control, protect them, etc.
The result is all the negative energy has damaged me. I was not strong enough physically to handle it.
It is only been 2 years of mental recovery for me. Working on regaining my mental health. I am very strong mentally now. But physical health is very hard to recover from.

I wish I had learned many years ago to deal with problems. To understand they are all temporary. And will go away. . I let worry. fear, morning, pre assumptions, control my life. They basically destroyed my life.
But this story has a good ending. I will recover. I will not let this hurt me any more.
You have to think positive to be positive.
You have to replace all negative thoughts, with gratitude.
Every day I look for something to be grateful for. .I can receive feeling of bliss from a beautiful sun set.
My goal for next year is bliss. with every thing and every one.
As this year I found joy, laughter, and happiness. with life.

Thank you for letting me share my heart here today.
Namaste

Your room mate

WHO AM I ?
WHAT A QUESTION.
Yet most of us ask it.
The other day at Google library, I was reading a preview of a book called
The Untethered Soul By Michael A. Singer,
Here is a excerpt.
"To attain true inner freedom, you must be able to objectively watch your problems, instead of being lost in them.
No solution can exist ,while you are lost in the energy of a problem.
There is a part of your being that can let go of your melodrama.
You start by taking a seat and watch what is going on in your head.
You could say you have a room mate.
Quiet your mind.
Just sit there and listen to the chatter.

Why am I doing this . There is no one here but me.

See there is your room mate.

Basically your not alone in there, There are 2 distinct aspects of your inner being. The first is you. the awareness , the witness, the center of your willful intentions, and the other is that which never shuts up. if you could get rid of that part, even for a moment. the peace and serenity would be the nicest vacation you have ever had. "

Your room mate can ruin any thing at a drop of a hat. I don't want to be here. I don't want to do this. blah blah blah. My words lol"
Your inner room mate finds something wrong with every thing.
Once you decide this inner voice is ruining your life. You are ready for transformation.
This voice is like sitting on top of a volcano ready to erupt. My life is a mess just because this thing that lives in here with me has to make a melodrama out of every thing.
Once you have seen this, and learn to no longer identify with your roommate your ready to free yourself."
After reading this paragraph I was hooked. It was like a light bulb went on in my head. I knew it was time to put duct tape on the mouth of this voice, I named the master.
But I think it has helpers too. The risk taker, the fool. party hearty Marty, some have the old goat, who is so stubborn they fights with there self.

I also am looking at life differently now.
=======================================
In chapter 2 , He asked the question who are you?
Mom, wife grandma, friend. This is just a list of names people can call me.
It is not me.
School, Job, organizations. Are thing I did, they are not me.
What I conclude is I am a soul occupying a body.
I believe I am here to learn and teach.
As a kid I was unaware of my learning ability.
I went though life as it presented it's self.
I was not taught to make choices.
But some how I learned things the hard way.
My choices were not always right.
I allowed problems to consume my life.
When in reality, they came and went. And there is always a new one.
So now I have learned to not take them personally.
I deal with them and let them go as quick as possible.
I chose to no longer let them control me.
I have thought of writing a book.
It would have instructions on choosing a happy life.
As kids we are not taught to be happy.
We either are or are not.
We are told to pursue it. But happiness is not a person place or thing. It is an emotion, we already possess it. All we have to do is choose to use it. Laugh, smile. Love, enjoy.
We have no clue, that at any time we could choose to.
No matter where we are.
Every thing is a matter of choice.
Choose happy, fun, responsible, let go of things, or keep them as part of our life.
So let go of things you do not like, and embrace what you love.

Internet helps

I was reading this on yahoo news today

Link Web Surf to Save Your Aging Brain

The new study takes the use-it-or-lose-it concept into the 21st century.

For the research, 24 neurologically normal adults, aged 55 to 78, were asked to surf the Internet while hooked up to an MRI machine. Before the study began, half the participants had used the Internet daily, and the other half had little experience with it.

After an initial MRI scan, the participants were instructed to do Internet searches for an hour on each of seven days in the next two weeks. They then returned to the clinic for more brain scans.

"At baseline, those with prior Internet experience showed a much greater extent of brain activation," Small said.

After at-home practice, however, those who had just been introduced to the Internet were catching up to those who were old hands, the study found.

I knew this was true from my own usage.

The more I use the Internet to learn the more I feel like I am getting back to normal. As some of you already know, I was in a car accident in 2005, where we were hit from the rear. I hit the back and top of my head . This caused some memory loss, confusion, stress. and some loss of motor skills. I could not turn a screw to install an electrical plug. I hurt my self using a drill to install screws in the sub floor. So I gave up on finishing the rehab to this house I am currently living in.

I have hope that my carpentry skills will return. I will soon start small projects to see if I can do it again. I still have the knowledge. I just need my hands and back to listen.

But my brain is learning. I have moved to more creative things like art, writing. And crafts. My spelling skills have improved. But I still have to read my post several times to see if I made mistakes. My crying wolf post was my first try at telling you a poetic story with out giving you all the details. Not many knew the point I was trying to convey. So I do not know if I succeeded with creative writing on that one.

The meaning of that story was I have a child who is crying wolf.

S/He who crys wolf

Is the wolf inside the house or outside?
Is the wolf really real?
Are you the wolf, or am I?
Do you believe the wolf is real?
How do you know when to run, or when to cry?
One minute the wolf is eating you. The next all is well with the world.
So you listen or do you reply?
You find all your words fall on deaf ears.
Will your heart break or will you turn to stone.
What if it is your child?
Who cries wolf ! WOLF! WOLF!
And yet they stay, ANOTHER DAY.

November's dream board

This is the Full Frost Moon.
This moon is also the full beaver moon.
But I am not a hunter or a fan of frost.
I look at this time as the beginning of hibernation.
As we go into the dark of our session.Where we cuddle up with a blanket and warm up our homes. Enjoy hot chocolate. And the thanks giving holiday this month.
While the other side of the world goes into the light.
And plants there crop.Enjoys fun in the sun.
I would love to live some where that it is forever spring.
As I am a spring person.
With my dream board this month, I see completion.
I have come full circle.
And now it is my turn to share the knowledge.
That we all get to taste a bit of every thing in life.
Some more than others.
But love, family & good friends, are the ultimate rewards in this life.
Please visit Jamie to see more full moon dream boards.

This and that

Cheep E is growing up. Now 3 weeks old and full of spunk.
This little bird thinks, it is a person.
Jeremy put the hamster bottle in, and taught it to drink that way .

The feathers are starting to unroll and remind me of my friends game bird.
So we may not have a chicken. Not sure yet, need a few more weeks to see the development.
My art journal for last night includes a photo of my new swing. Hubby spray painted the green for me. It will continue to evolve as time goes on. But for now, I have a working dream swing. Yea!
I am so happy with my new found love, of multi media art Journaling
This has released my inner child of creativity.
I am learning , if I don't like the results add another layer till it make me happy.
Art is not perfect. Like life there are mistakes and continued learning.
The whole point is to try.
There are many people more gifted.

It is more of a feeling . pleasure is the result.
I was never one to like abstract art. I need a form to go with it. With layering you can learn to love abstract. It is the background for me. Then add structure.
I do not know why I am not happy with out the structure.
It is my inner need for detail's.
I think this is why I love architecture. Old Churches are full of detail.
Nature is full of detail also. It is forever changing.
That is why I could sit in my garden in the past and never finish looking at every detail or just let my mind wonder. As I recently learned . I have never fully looked at every detail out side. There are things hiding every where.
I am continuing my journey with 3 books I just ordered.

Jamie will be doing another book blog Using the book The Joy Diet : 10 Daily Practices for a Happier Life
this book.is not like what we did with Wreck This Journal
by Keri Smith
. This book is not artistic. At first, I did not see how this would be fun. I researched it. I felt I would have to deal with negativity that I have buried. But maybe if I pull them out and deal with them . I will put them to rest forever. So I am in.
Here are the other 2 books I bought.
Book # 2 Art Journals and Creative Healing: Restoring the Spirit Through Self-Expression
: by Sharon Soneff

Book # 3"Living Out Loud" by Keri Smith I hope this is as much fun as her other book. Wreck This Journal

I bought both of these in hope of learning more from creative art.
I feel they may feed my inner child.

I have opened a new blog
Wrecking Sisters united.

With this blog I hope to keep the fun of sharing creativity alive for me and any one who wants to join me.
