An Awesome Thankful Thursay !

Today marks 1 year of happy thoughts!
I have made it through the winter with no blues and every day had some positive energy . I complected my bucket list for 2009.
All that is left is to get our farm in August.
I am not normally one for public prayer but
I thank GOD today for changing my life so much this year.
I went from the point of total depression and Illness to seeing the Ocean in person.
My husband has changed a bit to. We spoke on the phone every night for 2 weeks. I made him talk to all his family that we were visiting. So he may go on the next travel adventure. He is now more interactive with us. And has held the new grandbaby Jozlyn for the first time. He went to Amy's for the BBQ Sunday with no negative complaints about having to leave the house.
We went from Missouri to Arkansas Texas New Orleans Dolphin Island. Near Birmingham Al. And 2 wonderful nights in a log cabin in Desoto state park in Fort Pane Alabama. As soon as I saw the porch swing on the screened in porch. I called home and said I am not leaving here. I loved every minute of this adventure. We then went to Murfreesboro Tennessee and spent 3 days with hubby's niece and her wonderful family . I met blog friend Carla and her wonderful family. We spent the night with her. We also saw parts of Mississippi and Kentucky Illinois. But did not spend any time there. This is my self portrait of me at the ocean. My sister in law could not walk that much. So I saw things that she could not. I was amazed that I could walk this much with out allot of pain. I was in shorts from March 4 to March 14. Then came home to spring. I am in short as I write. This was a trip of a life time.

I conclude with.
I am thankful for my family and friends.
I love you all ! Thank you for your support and kind words this year. You made a big difference in my life.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. - George Bernard Shaw
Note for me
Friday is a good time to sow Leaf plants like Cabbages, Celery, Celery, Dill, Lettuce, Rhubarb, Spinach, but it would not be a good time to sow Fruiting plants like Aubergines (Eggplant), Broad Beans (Fava), Cucumbers, Peas, Peppers,

New Orleans 1

Today is Canal Bourbon & Royal street photos.
The photos start off with a bit of entering La. The first bridge we encountered was amazing. If they had snow no one would make it up this bridge. Most of the drive was on raised bridges with water below. When we entered New Orleans We had our first glimpse of the Oceans coming into a bay or lake. They had the biggest bridge I have ever seen. I will show photos of the bridge in another post. We stayed 2 nights. here. The Canal street motel was only $35.00 a night with free parking. It was bargain #1. Hotel ratings was a 2. But for the price I did not care. Our room was clean. Our first morning we woke up to the elevator broke. We had to walk up and down 4 flights of steps 2 times. But I was so thankful I did it. And survived with no pain. When we came back from the swamp tour that night the elevator was fixed. So all was well. We had breakfast at a wonderful pancake house down the street. We were going to ride the tram but it was not feasible. It required more walking than my sister in law could do. So we did not do any of the haunted tours. Or walk any of the streets. Bourbon and Royal was amazing. Every thing was so close and tall. Parking was an issue. So we just drove around.
Taking photo's was hard too. You were so close to the buildings. All I could do is street views. But LaLaurie Mansion I got out of the car to get better shots. This home is Owned and for sale by Nicolas Cage. The home has a very bad past and is said to have hundreds of tortured souls haunting it.

A little bit of Texas

Texas was mostly a visit for friends and family. I am so thankful for this trip. I met Carla and her wonderful family. My Brother in Laws family. And saw lot's of cow, horses. And most of all sun. I was in shorts till I hit Tennessee on March 13.
We spent all our time in Houston with family. The highways were enough to make my sister in law upset. As she live there 20 years ago. But did not know her way around. They changed them so much. I was happy just to get to know my husbands family. And bird watch in the back yard. Temps were up to 81 degrees. I was given a sago palm to bring home. Our next stop will be New Orleans.

Arkansas 2009

Arkansas is one place I will go again. I loved Hot springs ! We had a quaint hotel room. It had the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. The room was only $63..00 a night including tax. We started the day with a great soak in a hot tub. The on to a sauna box like you would see on TV where they close metal doors around you neck. like on old TV shows. Then off to being wrapped in hot towels. And at last the Swedish massage. I want to do this again ! We then drove to a pancake restaurant. And would not recommend it to others. Then off to see President Clinton's child hood home. It was not open to the public but you could take photos. Then off to the gator petting zoo. I did not include all the other animals there. I am saving them for Camera critters on Saturday. But we loved every minute there. I fed deer and other animals. We did not have time to go to the crystal mines and hunt for treasure. Maybe next time. As we were leaving for Texas we saw the forest on fire. And I called 911 to find it was a controlled burn. So we drove on with fire on both sides of our road. it was a bit scary. But what an awesome sight. I stopped at Lowe's and found a Camellia bush like the one at our hotel. It was half price. So I only paid about $14.00 for one of my own. What a deal !

Who could say no?

Who could say no to this face ?
I was almost home this morning when approached by this litter of pups.
So I took the dingo above. She is adorable. I brought her home knowing my grandson lost his dog. And he said papa please can I have your dog ?
Papa had fun with him. He said you want my new dog Grammy brought home from her vacation. He was like. YES PLEASEEEEE!
So he has a sweet new Australian Blue Heeler.
I have had a trip of a life time. I will start sharing photos and story's soon as possible. I took in excess of 2-3000 photos. But will not up load near that many. lol.
I saw people, Gators, dolphins, turtles, snakes, deer, cows, horses, birds, goats, flowers, trees, rocks, stones, boulders, and waterfalls. Not to mention the gulf of Mexico. My feet were in the ocean.
Talk again tomorrow.
Good night all , missed you !
Have a wonderful day and remember to laugh and play.

Planning a trip

I am planning a running vantrip to Texas and Tennessee for March 2- 19, 2009

My sister in law and I are planning to see Karen,My best friend from High school , Carla from Blogville, and my brother in law in Texas. Photobucket
In Murfreesboro, Tennessee We will visit my husbands niece.
I am excited that.
Even though it is the golf of Mexico I will get to see the ocean.

Photobucket
I will get to see New Orleans in Louisiana.
We will pass though Birmingham Alabama.
I also do not know if we should take hwy 59 or hwy 65 from New Orleans or Birmingham AL. to Tenn.
If you know of any things to do or see, or if you are on my rout and want a visit from me. please post your suggestions. As it is not easy to plan this trip. By Internet alone. I am on a limited budget so I can not go to expensive restaurants and events. My sister in law said she like to go out to shows. But what I have found so far in Texas is budget busters. I also found parking can be $7-$10 for Rodeo Houston Rascal Flatts ,Clay Walker, Trace Adkins, Allen Jackson. At Reliant Stadiumin Houston.

Road trip views

What wonderful weather we have had.Yesterday
I had to open a window it was 80f in the house.
We may have spotted another eagle in the distance on the way home Tuesday
in the Osage beach area of the Lake of the Ozarks.
Sorry the photo below is a blur.

When we saw this truck.
My thought was his and hers tee pees. lol
Hubby said it would be great to have a
Electric line in the middle of the tee pees.
So I put one in. Which one do you like best?

This is more progress I love the new view but it will be replace with some sort of development.

I am going to miss this rock wallThe water level if finally down
Osage rive from Hwy 54 bridge

This is the rock Quarry right beside the river.
I really like the rock wall in the back of the quarry.

Sky Watch Friday # 6

I am so addicted to sky watching there is no bringing me back.

This adds passion and love of life to your soul.
There were so many good views this week it was hard to choose a few.

Between 1 and 2 I could not choose. I love the sky more in #2 and #1 how can I pass up a photo of both the lake of the Ozarks. And the Osage rive in 1 shot at sun set. This is the Bagnel dam area. And where our electricity comes from. A place to boat, fish or watch the water flow. See the bald eagle or humongous cat fish feed.
This view is over the Lake to the north. river is on the south in photo above.
Happy sky watch to all from the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. USA
I am off to see the new Granddaughter now.

If the sky is blue

If the sky is blue
I know what to do.

If the sky is Grey
I know I can not go play

If the sky is gold
Treasures will unfold.

If the sky is red
I am not going to bed

if the sky is full of color
it fulfills like no another.

Rain bows
keep you on your toes

And the wind really blows.
Can you believe I wrote a poem.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
These photos contains the only eagle I saw yesterday. I need more than a 300 mm lens . For this one.

Views on Hwy 50

These are views from High way 50 near Lynn and Rose bud Missouri. USA
The Osage river
Church steeple in the woods
This is an example of our ground we have a high rock table which allows flooding in areas, and the reason dirt is so expensive as it is hard to come by.
Some how roads are put through hillsides and not made to go up and over. Lots of dynamite and equipment is used to do this.
You can see why I love Missouri. Lots of trees and beautiful blue sky's
I took this video to show you a more panoramic view because a photo can not do justice to the awesome views you can find in Missouri.

These photos and video were taken with my Nikon cool pix so the quality is not quite there.

Hot chicks

A broody game hen showed up with her crew of possible stolen eggs 2 days ago.

One or all of these little bantams in the front row
may be dads
Moms unknown.
Unless they are hers.
She is center.
A chick in the hand
The joy of a kiss or 2
Want to dance?Sure
No you are not seeing doubble or tripple
Really there are only 4 total.
I could not get them all in one picture.
So I put lots of them in a picture
These pugs live with the chickens.
This is another road trip.
I so do not own all these animals.
I had a pug once.
They are demanding and head strong.
You have to do what they want!
Now I have cats and chickens.
Crash & Reba

While I was at Darlas Blog
I found a link to a meme called Camera Critters.
And by chance I have critters here.
So I am off to see more critters.
I love it.
