Views on Hwy 50

These are views from High way 50 near Lynn and Rose bud Missouri. USA
The Osage river
Church steeple in the woods
This is an example of our ground we have a high rock table which allows flooding in areas, and the reason dirt is so expensive as it is hard to come by.
Some how roads are put through hillsides and not made to go up and over. Lots of dynamite and equipment is used to do this.
You can see why I love Missouri. Lots of trees and beautiful blue sky's
I took this video to show you a more panoramic view because a photo can not do justice to the awesome views you can find in Missouri.

These photos and video were taken with my Nikon cool pix so the quality is not quite there.

I agree, the big blue sky is one a the wonderful benefits we have here in Missouri. I really like the steeple in the woods shot.

Happy SWF and I hope you have a wonderful year!

You do live in a gorgeous state, Grammy. We here in TN have tons of rocks also.. When we try to plant flowers, we can hit rock by digging just a few inches down.

Love the blue sky!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
I have a new blog now. I'm on blogger. Check it out!!!

I love driving in Missouri, though we haven't been there in a while. I love the picture of the river and also how the sky is so blue in these pictures.

Looks like interesting country. And yes, its true about photos not capturing what you are seeing, and gawking at, while driving. As a hydrologist, I would love to spend some time on the Missouri.

My Uncle Bill used to snag Spoonbill Catfish when they were running in the Osage.
Dad worked on highway construction in Missouri. I have lived in Lebanon, Sedalia, and Koshkanong(spelling?) There may be more I do not remember.
Dad worked in St Louis at a car factory before I was born.
Wonderful pictures and beautiful county!

I bet you can guess which image I clicked on first for a closer look. I'd love to check out the rock in your area. That white stone and the way it's layered looks promising to me :)

I liked the pictures...some of the ones looking down the road remind me of places we pass through going to Tennessee.

I have been to Hannibal Missouri and to St. Louis...to the zoo. I did really like what I seen of it on our way to Hannibal.

Those are clear skies, what a beautiful day! I haven't been to any midwest state, well, except for O'Hare. I hope to see your state someday, it looks beautiful.
